Uniting Sri Lankan Veterans in Queensland
The Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen Association of Queensland (SLEXQ) is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit community proudly supporting Sri Lankan ex-servicemen, servicewomen, and their families who now call Queensland home.
As a registered, independent, and non-partisan veteran organisation, we promote the welfare of Sri Lankan veterans in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, and beyond — fostering lifelong camaraderie, strengthening community ties between Sri Lanka and Australia, and honouring the service and sacrifice of our members.
From ANZAC Day parades in Brisbane to multicultural festivals in the Gold Coast, from welfare assistance in Townsville to family gatherings in Cairns, our mission is simple: honour our service, strengthen our connections, and provide practical help to those in need.

What We Do
Camaraderie & Support
We provide a platform where Sri Lankan veterans and police officers can share stories, offer guidance, and form lasting friendships.
Remembrance & Honour
SLEXQ actively organises and participates in commemorative events, including Queensland’s ANZAC Day ceremonies and cultural gatherings, to pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed.
Community Bridge
We work to enhance understanding and cooperation between the Sri Lankan and Australian communities, championing multicultural harmony and supporting new arrivals as they settle in Queensland.
Heritage & Education
The Association is committed to preserving the legacy and military traditions of Sri Lankan service personnel, passing down values of honour and service to younger generations and the broader public.
Be a Part Of Our Journey
The Sri Lanka Ex‑Servicemen Association of Queensland (SLEXQ) welcomes new members from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, and across Queensland who share our values of unity, respect, and remembrance.
Membership is open not only to Sri Lankan veterans but also to those in the wider community who support our mission and heritage.
